However how am i supposed to run it directly after the cats they are spread apart so far for about three feet of pipe

I was thinking of doing it as close a I possibly can tho

That's really all you can do. Get the X as close as possible to the cats. I have seen some install the X way down stream where it does little good. Keep it close and you are good.

Ive been around drag racing for 16 years now. you are fine. The cats add more than enough backpressure. People run open headers on their $15K engines all day long.
