Finally got around to doing mine after having the parts for a while. I covered the exposed portion of the LED strip with the brake light repair tape and then covered the rest of the exposed part that I didn't want showing with black gaff tape.

I like the semi-subtle, irredescent glow that the LED strip combined with the repair tape gives it. I think it tames the glow some, makes it more red and gives it a spooky look.

Thanks for the ideas, guys!

Does the white still have a pinkish tint to it when not lit up ?

Yep it does :Grenade:

Holy shit i didn't even think of that. Hmmmm got to figure out a fast fix for that. So Glad you said that before i put them on.

Yeah, A few guys a while back put white plastic over it, similar to what I did with the red. Look for a translucent white folder in the "back to school" section of any store, cut a piece to fit and you be good.

EDIT - guess I didnt cover it in this thread but the red el tape will fade eventually so I covered it with a red translucent plastic. you can get any color you want by using this same technique with white el tape. The plastic will still fade over time so some guys have used brake light repair tape, for red, with better results. Im going to try it soon.
