Thanks for posting. I would like to switch my 2012 set to the new 2013 if it will not void my warranty. Can someone please point me in the right direction from beginning to end on exactly what parts need to be ordered. This is a learning process for me as well. Yes, I'm the FNG and understand the search option, but there are several posts with everyone ordering parts from all over the internet. Wouldn't it be better to order all Ford parts?

Thank you in advance.

Be nice if you had time to do an output shot of one side with the OEM projector and one side with the replacement projector to see what kind of difference it really does make.

Do you know what size the lenses are? Based on your post it seems you may also be looking into a clear lens upgrade for Stock. I swapped my STi frosted lenses for TSX-R lenses from TRS and it made a big difference in the beam output.

I test fitted a ZKW-R clear lense in last night but the projector itself has notches for the oem lense to sit in a certain way and I couldnt get an even cutoff because it wouldnt sit flush. Im still lookin into it though, and will be comparing the EVOX-R to the opposite OEM side tonight. Also trying to formulate a harness to adapt from the OEM D3S ballast to the D2S bulb that will be in the Evo's. This way the stock ballast can remain in place covering that large hole in the housing and keep everything self contained.

Would a European Ls460 Bi-Xenon fit in the 2013 headlight housing?

I doubt it, but with maybe some creative bracketry it could be done, I know the FXR 3.0 doesnt bolt up either only the EVOX-R's do. That too would need a few small brackets to accomplish the conversion. I am almost positive these OEM projectors are some dumbed down version of Hella, and Matt from TRS somewhat confirms it.

Well did a little more research while Turf's paint drys for his retro.

Here's what Ive all found out: the OEM Ford projector is some version of a Hella, and the EVOX-R is the only projector that will bolt directly up. The High beam solenoid input plug matches the EVO's input as well.

Now to the comparison of light output: the EVOX-R (on the right) as you can see distributes the light better and with a razor sharp cutoff. The OEM Ford on the other hand is scattered all over, very intense hotspot with no uniform foreground coverage. The high beams are also a tell tale sign that this projector was pretty developed, im dissappointed Ford! A little extra research could have yielded a much better performing projector.

I am still working on utilizing the OEM D3S ballast to work with the D2S Evox-r for those who would potientially upgrade. I have some wheels in motion for accomplishing this, but is a trade secret for now until I can confirm its reliability. This way the OEM ballast will still cover the giant hole it mounts into and keeping all the components self contained inside and mounted to the headlight housing.

First output shots were from around 15ft away
