10 SCAB rear ended at high speed

Last Sunday I was stopped in traffic and a 15 year old kid must've been texting and rear end my left rear at a good rate of speed. He tried to swerve. Most likely there is frame damage. Given the high market for Gen1s do I keep the truck and try to get it straightened or today it and get screwed?

Oh man, sorry about your truck, hope everybody was okay. She doesn't look too good, did the box hit the back of the cab anywhere, If so, she's probably gone, although somebody would probably fix it. I think it's time to cash in and get another one.

I was just looking at those pictures closer and if your drivers door is closed tight, you have a gap issue with the back of the front fender, it's sticking out a bit, or it appears that way in the picture.

Buy another one, and buy your old one back from the insurance company. Assuming your state allows you to fix it .

The truck just turned 100k miles and I still owe on it. The bed is shot and was pushed up into the driver's side corner. Im.thinking I pretty much have buy it back because I'm not in a position to buy another 1.

It's just the light. All the doors open fine. The bed did hit the rear cab a little. I just put new shocks and Geisers on the front.

Sounds like you love it. Hopefully the frame isn't too bent or not at all. Keep us posted with what the insurance company says.

Will insurance pay to repair it? If so it sounds like that is the lowest out of pocket cost for you. There is always the possibility of getting some money back via a diminished value claim as well, though not easy.

I'm hoping they repair it. It very close to a total loss. Fingers crossed. With the elevated price for trucks especially I will be fighting it.
