Hi all, long time reader. So I have a 2019 Screw 801a, starting to put together and buy the pieces for my stereo upgrade. So far I have this planned:
Front- Morel Virtus 603
Rear- Morel Maximo ultra 603
Subs- 2 JL audio 12 tw3-d4
Phoenix audio SC7862 head unit

Not sure if a 5 channel amp would be enough or am I going to need 2 amps? Anything else I would need? Thanks in advance

In my gen 1 I am running 2 different AudioControl amps, one 800.4 for the door speakers and one 800.1 for the subwoofer. I don't personally like running a single amp but everyone has their own preferences.

I'd run 2 AMPs -- my amp rack pictured
Blam signature series 6.5" 2 way (front doors )
Blam signature series 3" wideband ( center )
Blam Live coaxial 6.5" ( rears )
Nav-tv B&O interface
Helix V8, 8 channel amplifier built in DSP.
Helix M one , monoblock amplifier.
Audiomobile 10" subwoofer.
Audiomobile 10" passive

i think just about every 5 channel amp is limited to 500 watts. might be one or two at 600. even then, you should run more power. a dedicated subwoofer amp is best. rms power means nothing. we run 500 watts to a single sub every time.

You'll need two amps for sure. The subs can take 400 watts a piece. There isn't any single 5 channel amp that will deliver 800 watts RMS for the sub channel unless paying a ton for it. It's cheaper to run two amps.
