I went to from an MB AMG GLE to my Raptor. I do not regret it one bit. The Raptor has a hell a lot more room and very comfortable. It's not a speed demon on the highway but it does well enough. The kids love the Raptor way more than the MB. The fun of it is I can take the whole Family on Raptor Runs and they have a blast with me. Wifey also had a 3 row SUV. I also have a speed demon fun car if I have the urge. The Raptor is a great DD!
Went from F90 M5 back to Raptor and don’t regret it at all. Gen 3 is stout and plenty fast even compared to my heavily modified Gen 2, and both the wife and baby love the monster truck. Need to buy travel crates for dogs but way more room for everything else.

I have had 7 BMWs in my life - all had leaks from oil or coolant. I can't speak for BMWs post 2011. I will say that the rear of the RAPTOR is quite large, so yes you can have 3 of anything back there comfortably. I had three grown men back there and they were all comfortable, pause.

why change a good thing lol. replaced a weeping coolant expansion tank on the 2018 M5 (conveniently located right above a bank of injectors) before getting rid of it. cool car but imo those things are meant to be leased.
So I stopped reading the thread on page 2 so I may have missed something, though I can offer this.
I have a 2022 Raptor. In the last year, we went from an Audi Q5 to a Lincoln Aviator to a Mach-E to a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S e-hybrid for my wife's daily driver. The Q5 was too small. The Lincoln, although the Grand Touring and special ordered, was a can of worms and Lincoln repurchased it. The Mach-E was a get-us-by 'til we figured out what we wanted. In the end, although the Cayenne and (my old) Ford Edge are "competitors" in the midsize segment, as well as the Lincoln and it being a three-row, there's something to be said about an intricately designed performance SUV that also has a ton of room.
The Q5 is listed as a compact and feels it. The Edge wasn't much bigger, though classified as a midsize. The Aviator was gigantic for cargo with the third row folded down, though the second row was cramped regardless, and absolutely zero cargo with the third row up. The Cayenne offers a bit more rear leg room, and at least for us, enormous cargo capacity if we need it.
We got the Raptor because I wanted one (again) and for our purposely bought family hauler road trip machine. The Cayenne will earn its keep though, and will do so with grace. Especially when we wanna tap into that Twin Turbo V8.
But for real, I think you, nor anyone, could ever go wrong wanting 600+ miles of range, ground clearance for days, cargo room like a cargo plane, interior room for anything you'd wanna do, and the most comfortable ride you can find. That's why I got the Raptor. It's exactly what we needed and wanted, and I'm thankful Ford still builds these stupid things.
Got the Mach 1 for fun. Here's our current stable.
That's where I'm at. I want the Raptor for road trips with all of us. At this point, I think I'm going to keep the X5M as well, and just split miles between them. It's too good to let go, but I'm pumped for the Raptor for family duty, long trips and just general duties. Build date is 3/18 as of now...getting closer!

A perfect storm of events: I'd never owned a truck, had wanted a Raptor since 2018, found the exact spec I wanted locally, got a good deal on the purchase/trade-in, my RR had some weird issue pop up that the CPO warranty didn't want to cover which pissed me off, and ultimately we were buying a home and I needed something with a bed to haul machinery, dirt, rocks, etc. with every weekend for months on end.
I'll probably buy a Range Rover Sport with the SC V8 in the near future for drives into the city, weekend trips, fun drives, etc., but I intend to keep the Raptor forever. It's great on road trips, camping, off-roading (when trails aren't too narrow), and super comfortable. It's also nice that I can go rent a giant tiller and auger and take them both home with room to spare aside from my headlights being pointed at the moon

I had my 2017 Cayenne GTS for, I kid you not, 6 months before I got rid of it. It had a ton of really annoying squeaks/rattles (it had less than 15k miles on it when I bought it...), the auto/start stop system was the worst I'd ever had the misfortune of dealing with, and it kept having other weird issues (e.g. A/C condenser drain clogging and dumping a ton of water into both footwells).
It also didn't feel at all like an SUV. Felt like an SUV-shaped sedan--low to the ground, relatively stiff suspension, and interior space were all sedan-like. I never miss the Cayenne.

I'll agree with everything said here. We have a new Lexus RX350 F-Sport (this is the best SUV I've ever owned), and the Gen 2. When I want road hugging thrills, I drive the RX. When I want comfort and general badassery, I drive the Raptor. The kids LOVE the Raptor...and it fits them all very comfortably. One of both vehicles is best!
