Ditto...ditto...I was originally goin to just do the plugs, and was considering replacing the wires with Grannellis. While I pondered the option upgrade and read posts pro and con, I ended up ordering and replacing, the wires with OEM Denso wires and boot kits. Good thing I did, bc I ended up splitting one boot removing them, the internal wire coils most were corroded including the resisters, and at least two wires came apart at the lower ends and corroded plugs terminals with it broken off the isolators....
I think the boots on the coils fail more than the coil itself. Wires and boots are subjected to some extreme heat cycles with being sunk in the head and in between the exhaust manifolds. The rubber breaks down after some time.[/QUOT

Did you notice any difference after the install

Yes...prior to replacement I was getting intermittent spark arching and a noticeable ticking typical. I am getting a slight increase in MPG not sure if it’s only from the plug/coils replacement but from a combination of tweaking and squeezing be performance and fuel efficiency. When compared to when I first acquired the truck to now and after the improvements, I am getting more or quicker and smoother launch from a full stop, better gas mileage overall. Getting a real avg. 15 MPG vs 13 MPG. Also note that I went from bone stock and original burnt out ignition replacement and added a 5Star 91 oct performance tune with a SCT-BDX tuner, I use 91-93 oct gas only vs 87-89 oct gas previously.

Curious if there has been any Dyno testing before and after with the $300 wires? Getting ready to put that set of AC Delco wires on mine. I am not sold on the 0 ohm resistance theory yet lots of other factors other than testing a cold piece of wire. What happens to resistance when the wires heat up?

We have a package for the kit that includes plugs and wires under our maintenance section:
https://www.freedommotorsports.us/c...-ford-raptor-maintenance-recommendations.html
Promo code: FRFMAINTENANCE11 for the package.

I can also provide a discounted FRF price on just wires too.
Most folks are replacing both as this package has become very popular.
You will find that the existing resistors will be green and corroded, personally I wouldn't re-use them but if you do, clean them up and make sure and use dielectric grease. With the Granatelli performance wires, they replace the resistor with a 0hm solid pellet and their wires have a ring on both ends to eliminate the interference that the normal resistors deal with. I personally replaced the wires because you might find that some will tear and I wanted performance wires vs the OEM. I did end up buying brand new coil boots (includes the spring) as I had one rip and they were extremely dirty on mine. I can package those with wires if needed.

Hope that helps

Rick,

I am installing a Whipple sc on my 6.2 and want to order the recommended plug wires and boots . I am guessing you Rec comes the Kevlar and sleeves as well with the red wires. Do you have a promo code for these?

If you have a supercharger then make sure and get the 6510 spark plugs, they run cooler and for your exact application. And yes the Kevlar and Sleeve upgrade it highly recommended with superchargers or headers. Use promo code FRFGRAN25 for 25% off right now.

Just ordered the full set minus plugs which were swapped last June. With the HP increase claims, is there any need for a retune?
