dealership oil change issue (formally titled disaster)

Kinda related... Wondering if any opinions on the OEM drain plug. Replace it? Keep it? 2 Options I’d read about:

Both have advantage of having magnet inside.

I went to the dealer for an oil change, took my backpack into the restroom and took all their toilet paper, and the oil change was ok too.

My gym busted a woman trying to walk out with hand sanitizer.

Well not much else to say. Overall sh_tty service, you lost the access plate (make them replace it), you had the typical residual mess of oil that drains down on that back skid plate and only you would use 3 cans of brake cleaner to wash it out or degreaser and a flush. Very few shops will take the time to make it all squeaky clean again. Ford did good with the oil filter drain, but lousy with the area for the drain plug access.

The cure would be to use a valve as mentioned. I installed a Fumoto to save on the mess the next time.

Based on your pic you have a 2019 or 2020 so you have a metal drain plug. The ones you posted below are plastic and only fit 2017 and 2018 trucks.

UPDATE: service manager was very nice and replaced by taking a plate off one of the trucks off the lot.

And one free oil change.
