Just picked up a fully loaded 2020 with Recaro MSRP $77,560 and paid $71,719. Last one I bought was a 2018 and paid MSRP, so I think the 2020 is a good deal.

A small update.

So I think that 2020 800a base is a smoking deal at 49k.

BUT

I had the choice of that or a 17 802a with every option for $47,500 with 29,800 miles on it from a private seller. supercab, because I don't need 4 doors and have no hope of fitting a super crew in the garage

flying to the east coast to check out and pick that up here on mon.

I think either deal is great, just decided to go with a couple more years and miles for all the options. The fact that ford has the balls to sell a 50k+ truck without push button start is amazing in itself.

im hoping the rarity of the SCAB helps to hold its value.

they are rare but not impossible to find. My dealer has 3 that they can't sell >> https://www.vanbortelford.net/f150ad.html?Trim=Raptor

Very true. When I was hunting for mine there were usually 300+ screws within 100 miles of my house and no more than 5 scabs at anytime.

There is a reason the scab is rare, and hard to find. The market in general says no to that overwhelmingly. For whatever reason, the masses just do not want a scab... they are hard to find AND hard to sell.

A couple things:
1. the 2017 has a plastic oil pan that is very prone to leaking. In mid 2018, Ford realized it was a huge problem for owners, so they switched design back to a metal pan. You would think that you as a consumer could just easily swap a plastic to a metal, but you will read here that is not the case. There is a parts list of what you would need to buy, but it is a labor intensive swap. Thus, why ford continues to swap plastic pans for plastic pans on the 17-mid18 trucks.

2. Cam phaser rattle on the ecoboost. Make sure you get a cold start on this ecoboost to verify it does or doesn't have the rattle. Also get an OASIS report to see what work was done to the truck... you may find phasers were done, and pan was swapped at some point. Ford has no fix for the phasers. A recent part revision is still developing the cold start rattle.

3. Push button start - you realize that the raptor can be had with the push button start, right?

When the Ferrari f430 came out 90% of buyers got the F-1 transmission over the manual and the manual cars were considered less valuable and less desirable. Now the manuals fetch a 50k premium. Apples to oranges but in time collectors and enthusiasts appreciate rarity and uniqueness.

Maybe, but I am not sure you can draw a comparison with that to the scab raptor. We have had scab raptors for 10yrs now and they are still undesirable and hard to sell.

1. not worried about it. probably affects 1% of all F150 owners. It's not something that was just for the raptor.
2. i'll check it
3. yeah, i get it. NO RAPTOR SHOULD NOT HAVE A PUSH BUTTON START. IT'S 2020 NOT 1980.

That's cool. I personally don't give a ****. No plans to sell.

I also come from the understanding that no vehicle is a good investment.
