I had my oil and cabin filter changed at the dealership today. None of the techs there had any experience changing the cabin filter. When they put the glove box back, it was all crooked and didn’t close all the way. One side shut all the way, the other side had a 2” opening at the seem. When I told them I wasn’t going to accept the vehicle that way, they went back and re-aligned it and got the glove box to close except there was about a half inch gap that one could look and see inside the glove box. The tech opened it and slammed it and it did close all the way, albeit still not a clean line where the seem was. I wasn’t happy knowing that I have to slam the glove box to get it to close properly.

They poked around and discovered that there is a TSB that affects F-150 with crooked glove box. The dealer is ordering a replacement glove box for me.

I hope this helps anyone who is noticing that their glove box isn’t quite right.

Thanks for the info. Mine doesn’t latch perfectly on the left side.

Don’t use it much tho. Centre console on the other hand...

Hmm... always thought the glove box was a bit chincy anyway.

You can literally look through the 1/4” gap into the glovebox!

This is what my glove box looks like now. I’ll post an after picture after it’s replaced.

they reclipped then bolted in the section with the glove box light wrong. pop off the carbon fiber trim with a plastic panel tool, unbolt and clip it back in slowly at the proper hook locations. if you press too hard it seems to mislatch 1-2 clips leading to the glove box opening with friction and it remains very uneven. took me an hour to figure out and with lots of cursing involved

Gotta try that. Thanks for the tip.
