Hi, I have a 2017 With about 17,000 miles. I have figured out it "uses" a little less than a quart every 3,000 miles. I have the jlt catch can and it seems to catch about 0.25 oz per 1,000 miles. Is this pretty normal? The service guys at my dealership say the threshold for usage is a quart every 1,000. My situation doesn't seem too excessive since we're squeezing so much out of such a small package and I drive the hell out of it.

Glad you mentioned this, bought a 2017 used with 11k miles. Dealership had done the oil change but it appears factory oil filter was never changed.

I pulled out a smidge over 6L at the oil change yest to replace the filter (including oil from the old filter) and am at 12.5k miles now. I dont have a catch can...might be where the oil is going or else dealer may have underfilled. Even after putting on an empty oil filter, i only needed to replace 6L. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here how much oil were you getting out?

I just got my truck so I haven't had this issue yet but pretty much all the turbo cars I've owned have consumed oil. My X5 50i goes through 1 qt every 3k miles and that is considered normal. I would just keep topping it off.

Keep an eye on oil. I gave F150 going through 2 -3 quarts every 600 miles. Scared. Repair says its normal. No leaks anywhere

Doesnt sound normal at all. I'd have shop look at.

I change oil on my 2017 every 5,000 miles. I have checked right before oil change and its always still full. I have never had to add oil. I drive moderately hard but no off road use.

both our 2018 3.5 eco boosts use zero oil.

on both cars I did oil changes at 1k, and 7k miles..... along with periodic checks, i can see no oil consumption at all.
