What’s the fascination with 37” tires all about?

Did you get into the computer and change the tire size? If so, how did you do it?
My truck is a 2014 w/ 50k miles. I started bone stock, save for a oiled cotton-style filter (Green Filter)....i.e. no tune, etc.

I adjusted to mid-perched, bought an SCT tune w/ 5-star tunes. Once I got to the tire store I flashed the 93 octane street tune and re-cal'd the speedo for the new tire size. Seems the new tune more than compensated for whatever I lost with the larger diameter, heavier tire, because the truck feels just as strong as ever (stronger even). My current mileage reads 12.7. I was getting 13.1 prior to the tires and tune (it was at 12.8 when I posted a few days ago, but I've been doing a lot of sitting and idling lately; I expect it will come back up).

And, best of all, 37s are just sexy...

LOL Yeah most people don’t realize the speedo/odometer don’t know your actual tire diameter unless you have the nGauge or similar that will let you change it. If you switch from 35” to 37” without changing ECU tire data then the measured distance will be less for a given distance, so your inficated mileage will be less. Your mpg, distance, and road speed will indicate less than actual.
Thanks for the vote of confidence...but, no, I'm not quite that stupid.

Can't speak for the V6/rice-burner Raptors. I was talking about the ones that are actually "trucks” (jk).

The 315/70’s are the metric equivalent of 35x12.5’s. Oh and 99% of 35x12.5’s measure out at 34.5”

Your hack job looks to be the equivalent to a coat hanger abortion.

wow, another *******, ah, the metric conversion comes in 34.5, a Toyo 35" for example, comes in at a true 35" Next time you try to sound smart, walk away big guy. You just sound stupid.

No point splitting hairs over the metric conversion. Not only are the manufacturers' listed sizes notoriously inaccurate, actual diameter also depends on rim width and tire pressure.

And where do you think the increase in sidewall comes from? The tire doesn't spontaneously grow more rubber. Wider rim yields a shorter, wider tire...albeit only slightly.

haha, learn a little math. 99% means 99 out of 100. Now 75% would be a little closer. Or, not calling me out in the first place, as you were just being a ****, may have been the right thing to do. Trolls like you just love to post rude shit. You cant help it, sad

Wasn’t being rude or a ****. When I said 99% it was to imply as in most. Toyo is probably one of the few exceptions. Damn near every other manufacturers measure the same 34.5”. Your the one who called me out with the one exception.
