What is your opinion of the exhaust sound of the new raptor? (for you that seen in wild)

I drove the 2016 Ecoboost Roush truck today and the exhaust sound was horrible in my opinion. How is Ford going make the 2017 Raptor sound better than the Roush?

I also drove 5.0 and 5.0 Supercharged Roush and they sounded great. My .02 they drive much firmer than my 2012 Raptor but the SC truck was great. Plus about $10K off sticker now with rebates compared the the markup I am finding on the new Raptor

I'm worried about that too. I have also contemplated on getting a 5.0 supercharged Roush too. Time will tell. I'm sure if my Raptor comes and it doesn't meet my expectations I will move onto the Roush.

Sound is one of those things that is completely subjective to the ear hearing it. Some kids think they sound awesome with their trunk rattling. How do you quantify a "better" sound?

Personally I think it sounds alright. I'm sure the aftermarket will change things up a bit, too, but you can't expect a TT V6 to sound like a flat-plane crank V8.

I really thought that Roush Ecoboost was going be great in many ways till I drove it. I agree it is totally subjective but it sounded so bad I turned right around and parked it. I would hate to wait for the Raptor and have that feeling again.

I haven't heard the Roush. There are means of changing the sounds and tones a vehicle makes by way of intakes, cat-backs, high-flow cats, etc, but one would think a company like Roush would have paid attention to selecting a combination of components to make it sound nice. Have you compared it to the videos on the Ford website?

There is really nothing that can be done to change that buzzy V6 tone. Most of the modded ecoboost trucks I've seen/heard have had a stock catback to keep the exhaust quiet. That way all you hear is the turbos (which admittedly sound a lot cooler than the exhaust).

Despite all the hype about it being a new engine, it is the same basic engine design (60 degree V6 with the same firing order), so I really don't see the Raptor sounding any better. So, if you were disappointed in the Roush, you'll be disappointed in the new Raptor.

If I get the urge to build a new truck I'll be starting with a 5.0 Platinum.

I'll take that sound all day! Can't say that I even notice the sound of my 2014 over the ******* fans that are like a ******** plane engine. Stupidest thing I have ever heard!!!
