Thinking the Raptor R with the V8 will be close to 100k before dealer markup. Probably really low production numbers first year.

Not that anyone really cares but my thoughts for history's sake...
  • Improvements are incremental. The Gen 1 to Gen 2 was an extreme difference, not so here.
  • Rear coil springs seems the biggest difference to me overall.
  • Not enough to push happy gen 2 owners over (for the most part)
  • Body of gen 3 looks meh, like there are no bulging fenders but maybe just the angles.
  • Gen 2 looks more aggressive.
  • 37" option is cool
  • Very disappointed in now powerboost personally.
  • The 'reveal', if you can call it that was a lame cuckold
  • Seems obvious to me Ford was not paying attention that the TRX was coming - if they were they'd have had the Raptor R ready to showoff TODAY to kick Dodge in the teeth
  • Overall nice improvements (interior is swanky) but not enough to make Gen 2 guys rush to trade in (maybe I'm wrong on that though.

Ok moving on.....Any guesses on the 3.5 H.O’s power figures?

I find it interesting it’s not offered to the new F-150 Limited. Seems they want this motor exclusive to the Raptor. Hmmmm

500 HP and 575 TQ for the updated 3.5 HO and the limited didn’t get the 3.5 HO till 2019, two years after the raptor came out. Might get the same thing this go round, but honestly a powerboost makes more sense for a limited.

Why? Only thing Ford didn't do was put a hybrid system in. That was a mistake. Everything else this truck has outclasses the TRX is every way. TRX is a joke. The current Raptor will hold its now against the TRX is everything but a drag race and off-road they are just about equal if not better for the Raptor. This truck only widens that gap. It isn't all about speed.

This!!!

Not as much of a difference as I expected. I like the 5 link and some features, but I agree that the Gen 2 looks more aggressive. Even though my time with the Gen 2 was short lived, I’m glad I owned one for a very short time.

Living in Massachusetts instead of AZ I’m probably not a candidate for another Raptor (no place to use it), so for now I’ll drive my 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road while I patiently wait for my new 2 door Bronco to get built.
