Absolutely crushed a deer on i80 in Iowa Friday evening... Tried to avoid but slammed on brakes and couldn't stop, probably struck the poor thing going 45mph (I had cruise at 75)... Big thud at impact and dead center strike to my ADD front bumper... Which is now slightly damaged but no other issues to truck that I can tell, goes in for appraisal Tuesday for full check... Pretty impressed with aftermarket bumper and how it took the hit... Cant believe all the deer in Nebraska and Iowa this year. Crazy. Glad we decided to take truck vs my wife's Subaru Outback for this road trip.. It could have been really bad for us.

Glad that you and your family was okay. That’s exactly why I have never went with a frame cut—I have had too many close calls with wildlife.

You got your bumper covered through your auto insurance?

Can this bumper be fixed ?
Also is there a chance such an impact can activate airbags ?

I’m glad you’re safe. That bumper held up respectably. Daggone forest rats will ruin your day at a moments notice.

Maybe you should leave that bumper on, as a warning to all the other forest rats out there ;-)

Glad you're OK - if you look for one of my first posts on the forum you can find out what it looks like hitting the deer @ 75 instead of 45 in a GMC Sierra lol!

Glad your ok

It will be interesting to see if your insurance says that your bumper is an aftermarket part. Some coverages only allow for so much $$ for aftermarket parts.

Airbag sensors only work on stock bumpers and typically take two sensors to activate on a front end collision. This looks like only one sensor would of been hit.

just my .02
