GEN 2 Transfer case skid

Are any of you guys running a skid plate over your transfer case? If so, which one?

I just blew my transfer case 2 days ago, hopefully Ford will cover it under warranty. It was completely cracked open.. no idea how..

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

Nah, too big of a target at a mile.. need more of IPSA size targets...

Crazy how the transfer case cracked like it did. Has anyone else done that? Dealership said the truck shouldn't be driven.. I only drove it 2.5 hours from the desert to the dealer. Sad part was, had in there 5 days ago for all these codes. My buddy thinks the cracked transfer case was causing the codes..

Dealer told me they couldn't do anything, just drive it until it breaks... so I did and now they are saying it may not be covered under warranty. Wish I had pics of the crack to diagnoses it.. they say they think it was a rock.. too bad I was in the sand when it happened, maybe tiny tiny little rocks...

I mean, did that rock jump up and only hit the transfer case? Just saying.

that's what I said! I asked the service writer and mechanic to send me pictures, especially the surrounding area... I want to see some damage anywhere else.. I personally haven't seen any, nor have I hit any big rocks. I have bottomed out on the front in sand, but no big rocks. I even have the hit that "cracked" the transfer case on video... never even bottomed out.

Update pics, cracked diff. They think it blew out! No Mark's on it at all...

DOESNT LOOK LIKE A TRANSFER CASE TO ME

I run the RCI trans/transfer-case/gas tank skid plates on my Raptor. I didn't get the engine/front diff plate as I wasn't sure if it would work with my front bumper. It has taken some hard hits and other than scrapes has held up very well.

Front diff, they originally claimed it was the transfer case and sent pics. I called and they said front Diff.

It completely blew up on me. They finally agreed to warranty it because there were no Mark's on the diff.
