I’m not sure I buy in to the using of springs vs. collars doesn’t change your shock travel. Adding collars adds “pre-load” which in turn changes the spring rate. By doing this, when the shock/ride height returns to its static position, this is what gives you an increase in height. Now if you opt to change the springs to a taller or stiffer spring to achieve the same ride height as the collar your still losing the same amount on “shock travel”. The shock is only so long, and whether you open that shock up (droop) using a collar or spring, makes no difference.

The only thing that can be done to not lose shock travel, while increasing ride height, is to add a shock with longer stroke.

Not all correct.

With Springs you will not increase travel but you will maintain the same travel as OEM. With Collars you will loose travel equal to the amount of the collar size as you are compressing the springs (pre-loading) them.

If your static ride height is “x” your shock shaft is in the same exact position whether you’ve added springs or collars. Unless your referring to coil bind at full compression.

So far the springs with the stock suspension felt awesome. I know what the guy meant by planted. It feels sporty, I would describe it similar to how my modded Porsche turbo or R8 feels where with the old springs u kind of get that “bouncy” effect. It’s not a rough ride, it feels smooth and plush but not the overally bouncy where ur riding like a pogo stick with stock if that makes sense.....

I’m really trying to think how to describe it, it’s almost like the front shocks were revalved for more street driving then jumping this truck 5 feet in the air in the desert lmao...
