Offroading spots in Colorado?

Hello all, taking a family trip this coming october to Vail, CO. Im from Cincinnati and will be driving the trip out so was curious if there are any good spots to check out? Id like to have some fun with the truck as intended on the way out or while im out there.

Let me know if anyones been or what spots, trails, parks i should check out!
