And 4.6, and 5.4 motors. And all the LS motors. And all engines with standard oil pumps that fail for that matter.

Oil pumps fail. Shit seizes and parts break. Nothing unique or odd about this. When its the oil pump that goes, the whole motor is destroyed.

The gears are not hard to replace with the engine out. Timing cover has to come off. The gears sit in a housing. Clearances need to be checked. Pack it with grease so it'll prime and put it all back together. TSS has the best price, but others sell the billet gears as well.

Gonna need more than one!

Wait, what? NFW. @AndysLog is constantly telling anyone on gen2 forums that this is totally unacceptable for a $70k truck - so can’t be true. No way.

Just chain yankin’ here.

I’m glad this got warrantied, don’t sweat not being able to add headers.

lol i have 138k on my 6.2 raptor.

not a week old with 1000 miles on it. MASSIVE difference.
MASSIVE.

but i can see where you are coming from. had my motor blown from a failed oil pump gear i would be pissed. knowing about it now and fixing it before becomes an issue. no longer mad, just more wrench time lol.

its an ok thought out analogy but still is an issue lol. 5.0 guys are blowing through theirs with just hard driving.

saying we all have knees so we must all have knee problems lolololololol.
no what i said is the same type of problem exists on a motor from the same company, so it may be more than "oh you have knees to so you have knee problems lolol"

it might be the same sub par part material they are using so you are seeing a higher rate of failure from a single company. may want to treat it as an actual problem and set up a way to fix it.

Just got the truck back. Ended up costing about $700 with a few parts needing to be replaced out of warranty like pulleys and trans hoses. All fluids were also out of pocket and my deductible was $100. Total cost of the motor replacement motor installed was just shy of 8k.

I can definitely feel that fresh motor power, jumps off the line when not roasting em. Going to break it in with OEM conventional oil and then switch back to Amsoil around 600 miles.

Also have a basani Y pipe going on next week with a cat delete tune from SVC.

Good thing you had the warranty. I still pass on them every time. I'm definitely way ahead money wise on that since I've never had a major expense like and engine or trans on any vehicle I've ever owned in my 28 years of driving. I've owned 7 Ford vehicles over those 28 years, with 4 of them in my possession now.
