I am looking at putting led strips in the bed. Has anyone had any experience running wires through the frame to the rear of truck or has everyone ran their wires next to frame?

I tried a couple of spots. There seem to be some internal stiffeners in the frame that act as baffles. It's not a continuous hollow tube like they used to be. I gave up and ran along the OEM harness in some flex loom.

That sucks it can't be ran through the frame. How come you moved the oem harness? If i remember it currently runs down the drivers side outside frame.

There's a common point of impact that pinches that harness up by the drivers front wheel well where it turns and goes up. It's just best to keep it out of harms way.

you can run it through the frame. i did that with my air lines. i just prefer to run it along side the oem harness. as rookie stated, there have been several occasions where the oem harness can get damaged right behind the drivers tire. so thats why i move the harness.

Ran the wiring for my bed lights through the frame, front to back. Used a metal fish tape and an extra pair of hands, took about 15 min.
