how do you know if you need the kit?

You don't “need“ the kit but if your gonna play offroad its highly recommended. I didn't have it and played one day, at the end of the day my new steering wheel center position was at 3-4 oclock. For $80 its a no brainer.

That way high! That price is almost exactly what I paid for the mid perch adjustment, camber caster kit installed, and allignment.

The kit is just the plates and nuts. 1 kit does 1 side so you need 2.

So I bought 1 Specialty Products Company 86250 Alignment Camber Kit thinking I needed to do the front only. So we need 2 of these kits for all 4 wheels?

You need two kits for both front wheels. One kit does one side.
