I have seen the quick release for the rear upper seat, and saw a you tube video about the install. I can't figure out why anyone needs this.

There does not look to be any room for storage back there, and the space is un finished. What am I missing?

Stuff I have back there: vhf radio body, secondary fuse box, wiring for dust light, jumper cables, tuner in box, road flares. Others have aftermarket amps and subs .

09-14 F150s have more room back there. You can easily mount a rifle behind the seat.

The quick release was designed for the Gen 1 trucks, then they just sold them for the 15+ trucks as well since it fits both, even though there's not as much room.
