Just got back from the dealer. They took pictures of my rusted driverside rocker panels and of a spot about 3"x2" on the rear corner of the cab where the pain is bubbling from rust underneath.

The service manager does not know how long it will take to get a response from Ford.

This thread went like a fart in the wind... Guess gorilla or HVAC foil tape was the way to go. @DGrav , It usually takes an hour, maybe 2 to get a response back from prior approval. Maybe 3 hours if they are really swamped. If the paint is bubbling without a crack in the paint surface, this is an indication that it is rusting from the inside out and would likely be covered per the paint job aid.
The rule for the corrosion warranty (5 yr/Unlimited miles) is that it has to be a naturally occurring hole.
Most older F150's with rotted cab corners are just that. They start as a bubble in the paint (indicating the rust came from the inside) and then keep progressing like cancer. In most trucks with the cab corner rust, the drains (rears especially) are plugged with sand/mud and other road debris.

No kidding it died in terms of the cool plug kit idea. Hope the kit comes back to life or we can get part numbers to make it our selves.

I know this thread is about rocker panels but the rust on the cross bars under my bed seems to have gotten worse. Anyone know if this is something ford will cover?
