I left the resonator in place. A 3" ID slips right into the existing resonator...

I've since changed over to a Flowmaster 40 w/ a turndown and still utilizing the OEM resonator...

I tried something similar and didn't think it had horrible drone, but it was too much for me. I bet with that new muffler on there it sounds good and less in cabin noise

Curious if anyone has bolted up a turndown directly to the two bolt flange on the y-pipe before the resonator?
