Protect Your Tailgate

Use a kit like this for a power lock. Run a wire from the factory door locks to the solenoid. When you lock/un-lock your doors the gate will do the same.

It will take some minor fab work but nothing that can't be done with basic tools and a 6-pack.

Thanks guys...now I've got the McGard, the EZ Down and the VPA solenoid thingy on the way. All seemed like good options. $92 well spent.

I have a very dumb questions. tailgates walking off isn't an issue where I'm located at. My stupid question is locking the tailgate with the key not enough to stop them?

Locking the tailgate will prevent it from being removed in the way most of us are worried about, but I use the bed of the truck frequently enough that some time and a few bucks is worth not locking / unlocking it all the time
