Ordered - confirmation documentation

I just ordered a 2012 and I'm wondering if I should have some piece of paper with my name against the order? Or does that not happen until I get a VIN?

I ordered mine in person and when I Finalized the order, paid my deposit and signed my papers, I got a print out with the order number and a listing of all the options ordered, color, etc...
