Always better to be safe than sorry. It doesn’t cost that much more to feed it quality food.

I've not looked at the the 6.2L tune specifically, but I have tuned my own Ecoboost and looked at 5.0 tunes in HPTuners. They both have the ability to advance timing globally based on the learned octane and instantaneous knock detection. I know my 2014 Ecoboost will advance timing globally 6-7 degrees going from 88 octane to 94 octane.

The bad part is diesel cost more now, than 93. lol ...That how old that one is.

Actually, diesel fuel has a lower Octane than gasoline. That is why it has to be injected in the cylinder at precisely the right time.

Diesel engines were direct injected long long long before gasoline engines.
