Hello mates! Pretty stoked to be picking up my new 2020 Black Raptor this Friday.

I had a very early Gen 1, 2012 if i remember correctly(which I loved), although been away for a while with some Super Duty’s (which I also love). I am excited to see first hand just how far they have come along....and what SVT have advanced.

Still doing plenty of “back reading” and catching up on the 2020 Gen 2 changes.... but if there is any immediate suggestions or recommendations... I am all ears.

Also, I have read the 98784865 threads towing (punchline 8000lbs max) and believe its pretty clear not a Raptor’s strength. That said, and maybe I am simply looking for some reassurances here from those with experience... can I safely assume towing 5000lbs (boat + trailer) comfortably once a month a 100miles or so is not a problem? I would think not considering the 8000lb max rating, but....

Anyhow, great forum....tons of knowledge here. Nice to be aboard and back with a Raptor.

Welcome (back). Did you look at the Tremor package for the SD as an option? Curious what it's like going from SD to our Gen2 Raptors.

I absolutely did. Came very close to pulling the trigger, and was vacillating quite a bit. There were none in central Ohio that met my spec... or I probably would have. I arguably don’t “need” a 3/4 ton....but I really do like the Super Duty’s a lot too. First world problems I suppose. ha.
