first off let me say that this is the most incredible vehicle i've ever owned or driven and this includes multiple merecedes, jags, h2, and an astin martin which the old man drives.
my question is living in georgia we have a window tint law thats 32 or above for the passengers side windows and only 8" from top on windshield. i wanted to match all windows and windshield with the 20 on backs but dont want the law to have another reason to ticket me. i'm mainly looking for uva protection for dash and to cool off the truck a bit. thinking bout 35 on the passengers and maybe a hardly noticeable 50 on windshield? This would be all llumar.
just picked it up a week ago (factory ordered metallic, 802, orange accents, beadlocks, etc) and have been monitoring this great site for close to a year. gonna do the sunroofs as well but that can be anything (gonna do air80 ceramic).
any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Uhh, 20% on the windshield? A good lawyer would find you at fault in any accident... FWIW, the airblue70 rejects as much UV as the dark films and almost the same heat rejection. What I did here is 35% on the side windows and airblue80 on the windshield.

The windshield already has a laminate that blocks UV, adding a tinting film will just give you the added benefit of rejecting some solar energy.

I personally opted not to tint my windshield. I wear polarized sun glasses during the day and didn't want that rainbow effect that comes with polarized lenses and tints. My eyes also aren't getting any younger either and I didn't want to compromise night time visibility.

forget the 20 window didnt mean that. so in a nutshell i'm just trying to protect the dash in 95 degree heat but didnt know about the preexisting uv block. think ill go with the airblue setup and skip the windshield. thanks for the info.

I live in Atlanta and know exactly what you mean. I recently had mine done in 50% crystaline on the windshield, 20% crystaline on the sunroof, and 15% Llumar CTX all around. 4 days later - pulled the 15 off the front two and replaced it with 5%. I'll try and take some good pics tomorrow and post them up for you.

Edit: So far I love it. The crystaline really helps reduce heat and glare on the windshield and isn't too dark depending on the light (clouds/sunny/dark). The truck takes less time to cool off after sitting in the sun while I'm at work as well. This is my first experience with higher end tint, but I'm not unfamiliar with dark tint - hence why I went back to 5% on the front. Visibility to me is just fine, plus the reverse and 360 camera really help in low light.

thanks for the info. i may do your setup but with 35 or 50 on the two front windows if it doesn't contrast with the rear 20's too badly. may just do 50% on everything but sunroof which prob do your 20. can you tell me where in atl you got it done if you were pleased with it? thanks!

I got it all done at Dynamic Appearance in Norcross. They did a great job. The 5% were redone at another place since they refused to go that dark. Here are some pics. I don’t have any pictures of it with 15% on the front two, but they do on their Facebook page - I believe.

I put formula one 15 on the fronts and air 80 on the windshield and overlaid on the rear three windows and moonroof - couldn't be happier and sides match well to factory rear

The Tint Guy on Canton Road did mine and I cannot tell a difference between the factory rear tint and the new tint on the front sides. That bugs me a lot looking at some of the photos here, you can tell the tint is not the same. Not sure what I have on the windshield but it completes the look and rejects a fair amount of heat. I don't think a car looks right with tints all around and *nothing* on the front; not big on the super dark in the front, but something is needed for aesthetic consistency IMO.
