Soft shackles are the way to go, I have a bunch of the Gator Jaw ones off amazon - Have a few for my ATV's and they hold up great.

No hook, that can turn into a missile.

Soft shackles work in place on the old school D shackles. You attach your tow rope to a mount on the vehicle with the soft shackle.

Edit:
Unless you mean "tow hook" like the mounted recovery points on the Raptor. When I hear tow hook I am thinking a hook attached to a stap of some sort. Not the recovery points.

You still need a tow hook or a really stout frame member, right?
Yes of course, but using heavy steel shackles or chains is def not ideal, especially if using a moving truck to yank it. I only use hard shackles or chains with winches and even then it's a last resort type of thing. Things go real bad with metal parts flying around at 100mph if something breaks

Put the tow hooks on today. Sharpens up the front end a lot. I suggest taking off the skid plate. A lot easier that way. I used the original dust covers, not a perfect fit but worked.

Does anybody know if the front tow hooks are the same as the rears? Not sure if the make different ones for the back. I can't seem to find any info on that.
