Can you remove the rear tow hooks?

I havent been able to find an answer to this but can you remove the rear tow hooks?

they are welded to the trailer hitch, which attaches to the bumper frame..

You could cut them off with a grinder and spray the hitch black. Shouldn't be too hard, but why?

In that case, no. You just tape off, mask, and spray away.
