just put the key in the forward position and it doesn't ding with the doors open. just make sure the climate system and headlights are off so the battery doesn't die.

Thats what I do if I want music.

That noise is so annoying I got into the habit of pulling the key before I even open the door.

I want to truly get rid of it, regardless of key position. I'm more than willing to sacrifice my turn signal clicking sound to get rid of (or muffle) that godforsaken chime.

Hey Pirate, I'm assuming this speaker also gives the chimes for things like "Low Tire Pressure" "Low Fuel Level" etc.... Is that correct?

Damn, put Pirate on a mission and he starts disassembling his truck for you!
Thanks Bro, i'll be watching... thread subscribed.

I have a suggestion Pirate, maybe you already tried this in the different foams you mentioned, but what about putting some HushMat or DynaMat like they use in car audio shops back there?? I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I think it might work.

lol, I didn't want Madcow to waste his Duct tape.

I thought about DynaMat or something similar, but I don't have any laying around. If it gets desperate I might hit the stereo shops in town to see if they can give me a scrap. I don't wanna buy a roll to use a square inch worth :baby:

I've been wanting to know where the noise box was anyways. It's more fun this way.

Found this while searching...Ford 500 Disable Key/Door chime-HELP! - F150online Forums

Guy just says to twist out the little speaker.

I'm not sure Im ready to damage anything. I'd rather find a reversible way to disable or muffle it. I'll probably pull the cluster back out tonight, and pull it apart to **** with it somemore.

Yeah all the warnings come from that speaker, which imo, can all be muffled/turned off.

After a little more investigation I've located the wire/terminal that senses the key "in ignition", the problem is, it only disables the chime when the key is inserted, once the ignition is turned to the accessory run/start position, chime comes back as usual. If anyone wants to know what wire, let me know.

Just did this on my 2014 Raptor. It is still the small blue/gray stripe wire that needs to be cut. My harness had 6 wires instead of five but the wire color is the same back to the 2010 models at least. This will only turn off the key in ignition dinger. I hate that dinger, would drive mine without a dash cluster if that was what it took to get rid of it. What i hate more is a mechanic that is supposed to know his shit tell me that it cant be done.
