I'm thinking of adding a fire extinguisher in the cab of my truck and was wondering how you guys mount them. I'd like it to be accessible fairly quickly for obvious reasons but still out of the way. I've seen them mounted to the front of the seats but don't want to limit the seat adjustments, as i have different people driving my truck often. My thought was to fab a bracket and mount it to the back of the front passenger headrest using the metal posts to attach the bracket. I figured if i need it in a hurry i can reach over and pull it off and jump out of the truck with it in hand. Mounting it to the floor in the back is also an option but then i run the risk of burying it under gear or at best having to open the back door to get it. Has anyone seen a cleaver way to mount one that is out of the way and still accessible quickly? Also, what is the preferred bottle for inside the cab? I figured i can start with that and then try to come up with a mounting solution.

Recently discovered the need for this and had to dig mine out before the truck got engulfed. Will be watching for good ideas and which bottles to use

I had mine attached under the rear seat. Ill update with pics when i get a minute.

Edit:

Mounted mine under the Driver’s side rear seat. Drilled holes through the frame under the seat where I attached the Fire Extinguisher. It’s weight is on the floorboard. Protected when the seat is down but easily accessible.

Been there since 2018 with no problems.

Will take and post a picture when I get home tomorrow.

I use an Element Extinguisher in the cab. It mount easily on the left lower part of the driver's seat. It is easily accessible. I use an automobile EXTINGUISHER mounted in the bed.
