Does anyone know how to disable the automatic dimming mirror function or where the sensor is located?

I bet if you unplug the small harness going into the rear view mirror, that would do the trick!

Never tried it... but I'm fairly certain that would work.

Well that made me fill stupid...I'll give it a try. I just wish you had the option of killing the auto turn on feature.

I have tinted windows which kill the view and sometimes when backing up I don't want any dimming. Ford should change this and give people a choice.

If you can figure out which of those wires running to the mirror is the 12v power (should be easy with a meter) then you could also install a small in-line push button toggle switch, and mount it behind the mirror.

Tape will not work. Then the mirror would tint all the time. You would need to kill the power to it or put a light over the sensor

I kinda thought the same thing but the headlights(bright light) is what causes it to dim.
So the bright light is what you don't want but darkness to keep it from dimming.
