Ok, I finally got the Squadron XLs installed. This took a lot more time than I expected but I'm happy with the outcome. These lights DO NOT fit in this spot unless you trim the bumper. I knew ahead of time that they wouldn't fit, but the Squadron XLs had pretty much everything I was looking for in an aftermarket LED and I knew I could make it fit without too much trouble.
I used a Dremel to cut off about 3/8 of an inch right above where the lights sit. I also built my own bracket out of parts from Home Depot, and painted it black. All bolt on, no welding. I'm very happy with the light output. These use the spot/driving combo lens which puts out a lot of light down the road as well as to the sides. The 5000 K color temperature is a pretty close match to the stock HIDs.
So I made a mock up of the Baja Design Squadron XLs to see if they would fit, and they don't! Looks like I'm gonna have to do some bumper trimming to squeeze 'em in there.
