Yup - sound like a Japanese Zero coming in for a landing when ya slow down. I've run them on a few trucks and they work well.

I really like them but I might go down a notch to the Trail Grapplers. I had the MB Chaos 6 and Terra Grapplers on my Taco.

I am a bit different when it comes to wheels. When I change wheels on any vehicle I am looking for a performance improvement first and cosmetics second. On the Raptor I will be going to a light weight forged wheel to lose a big chunk of unsprung weight and rotating mass. Be sure whatever wheel you look at that the strength is up to the Raptors demands. Some cast wheels have a very low strength rating. A rating of 2200lbs or less is going to be on the ragged edge for the raptor. The wheels I am looking at are rated at 3200lbs and up to a 44" tire. The weight 11 lbs less than the stockers and are a 1/2" wider. They are not a flashy wheel but they will help improve acceleration, braking, and increase mpg's.

Which wheels are you talking about?

Have you ever heard Thornbirds, same exact sound, had a set on my old 97. BadAss tire, the only way to get stuck with those was to frame out. Great in every condition except on road.

Has anyone had a set of Kumho Road Venture MT's ? They are not the best rated off road tire but they have a great look and perform well on road.

Yeah I haven't had a set, but have seen them work well on friends trucks. My favourite TSL's were the Swamper SX - the sidelugs got me out of many tough spots... I agree, all these bias ply tires work better offroad, but hell - they look mean, and I didn't buy my Raptor to be a street queen or street racer :roflsquared:

Edit: - Nice lookin 97!
