I bought my 2017 truck about four months ago. The dealership said they rebuilt the shocks as it had 153,000 km From day I didn’t think that it had been done I wasn’t sure I just thought that maybe that’s how those trucks drove , Until the day I was on the highway for the first time doing 120 K every bump I hit was almost shooting me off the road . I’ve been driving it long enough to know that it’s getting dangerous. Should there be tooling marks on the shocks? As there was none when I inspected them. They’re also leaking oil

Welcome to FRF.

They could have replaced them. Blue tops are fairly cheap.

The real question is, what are your tire pressures set to?

You could still have shock issues, especially with one leaking oil. But I would start with tire pressures and retest. Also, tire load rating could be off.

here, on frf
leaking oil means they are blown. but being a consummable item, there are several factors that come into play. i see your truck is dirty. offroading definitely diminishes the life of the shock. and hard hits can cause them to blow and leak. only you can determine if what you did caused it, or if it was a defect in the rebuild

I believe I have seen members (giggity) have good luck getting blue tops off of Rock Auto vs Tasca.
