My Gen 2 did the same thing. Got a few tunes from MPT and been very happy since.

Stupid question but have you checked the fluid level? @Diesel71 raises a good point, there's been some recalls/campaigns from Ford to update (flash) the TCM, I think the most recent being in 2019, was that completed? Doesn't sound like a lead frame or transmission connector issue but those are outside possibilities other than shift solenoids...

This happens to me a lot as well but only when slowing to a stop. It's like the transmission gears down too slowly, so it goes from 3rd to 1st in an instant and the truck just jerks to a stop. However, like you mentioned, once the truck warms up and is running for a while there is no issue whatsoever.

It’s a race truck!! Maybe you got the dial clutch option
