The dirt was not THE reason but is a contributing factor if you don’t care for the look of plastic anyway. Who knew a tailgate applique would generate such strong preferences

This is the 2019 I removed in order to paint.

FYI gunmonkeyINTL I’ve owned 5 Raptors, 4 with the tailgate applique I purposefully ordered this without after removing one once and seeing all the dirt trapped under it and inside the tailgate. $75-80 is chump change for a Raptor mod. To each his own....

For those without the big plastic dirt holding applique and for those with f150 here is a quick and cheap modification. Pop out old blue emblem pop in custom painted One to match.

Final Post on this topic. Front bumper looks great, fits perfect, 30 minute install. Rear bumper looks acceptable, does not fit, countless hours on install (5-8?), requires modifications. Not surprisingly had to cut their inserts to fit my backup lights but no big deal. Biggest problem: tailgate...

UPDATE rear bumper mostly on, just have to remove it, redrill mounting holes, repaint, so it can drop down 1/4 inch. As is, cannot open the tailgate without ruining my painted appliqué. Should never have removed factory bumper. What a pita for an “expensive” bumper. No way to mount spare tire...

I’ve owned 2 leadfoots, 1 black and have performance blue now. I would go leadfoot every time! Obviously color is a subjective topic (like exhaust sound!). But the leadfoot paint just looks deep and rich to me.
