Only things I could think of is that the belt is not routed correctly or the hoses are backwards or you have water in the system.

No, the belt was routed correctly. I have never messed with the power steering hoses so they should have been fine

Thanks fordfan. The trucks at ford right now and I'm looking at at least a week since the pump has to come from Detroit.
Damn Bluoval... You've had some trials and tribulations in the engine dept with this truck. Keep after it man!

Yeah, they are painted. Just need to fabricate some sort of splash shield. I trimmed down the factory ones but I still need to clearance the pinch welds and make better splash shields before I throw new rubber on her
