Can this be fixed using the same method of rock chip repair? Should I bother investing the money?
Not to my knowledge. The chip repair relies on sucking the air out of the site, and the resultant vacuum draws the repair substance into the fracture. I don't think there is a way to suck the air out of a crack.

Windshield crack repairs are rarely up to our expectations. Chip repairs out of the line of sight are usually acceptable. Most insurance companies waive the deductible and pay 100%. Keep up with the rock ships. Wyoming roads are covered with gravel so the wind doesn’t blow it away!
I think that top corner looks like a good place for an American flag sticker. My snow plow truck had a Rolling Stones tongue sticker on the bottom for a few years.
Go on vacation you will forget about till you get home.
OEM glass and the best technician in town and you are done
