They called today. Said driver rear shock was bad. Will replace it on Friday. Then retest the truck to see if it was fixed.
Yup. That must be written in their system somewhere. You are now at least the 3rd person in this thread including me to have the rear driver replaced first. It's not going to fix the problem and I specifically told them I didn't want one new rear shock and one old with 15k on my truck. Unless it's low mileage, I believe shocks should be replaced in pairs. I hope this solves your issue and it was just one shock but depending on overall mileage I would be pushing to have both rears replaced at the same time. It's doubtful they only heard the clunk in the driver's rear and not the passenger side.
I agree. Must be the work up and they quoted the TSB stating fix this one first. If it fixes it I will be happy. If it doesn't I am going to be annoyed.
They made me think it was nothing for 3 service appointments. Then replaced one rear. Then the other and now both fronts. Took a total of 6 trips to the dealer. 7 will be when they install the fronts.
Was called by my dealership. The part is on "restrict" meaning the part depot won't release it to the dealership. I wonder if they are going to recall the part or try to find a fix because the new part doesn't solve the problem. Said there was no ETA when the parts could be released. Picked up my truck and am now waiting on a call.
I never believe them when they say that. Somewhere in this thread is the part number for the rear shock. Find it and call another dealer part house and pretend you want to order it yourself and you were curious how much it would be. I'm willing to bet they will tell you it's available within 5-7 days.
Just a page back I posted all 4 shocks I got at the same time no longer than 2 weeks ago. Right rear was on backorder but otherwise no issues ordering.
