I'm mostly asking how the wrap holds up. Does it scratch/peel off easily?

Do the wraps these days help with protection as well as changing the color of your truck? IN the past it seemed like it was just to change the color for the most part. How does it do with car washes?

Not really. Protection is extremely minimal. The wrap is very fragile - doesn't hold up well to bug/bird crap, scratches, etc. Ok for a vehicle that's garaged all the time. If ur vehicle is out in the sun you might have a year or so until it goes bad and will be VERY hard to remove, and will most likely damage your underlying paint. Been thru this with two vehicles already. Never again. I am seriously looking into liquid wrap now. ( DipYourCar.com ) Beautiful looking. Still not as durable as PPF. Similar to a vinyl wrap as far as durability. There is a new product called Dip Armor coming out this year that will toughen up the liquid wrap quite a bit. Two big advantages are ease of installation - you can do it yourself pretty easily. The second is cost - around $700 - $1000 depending if you have spray equipment. Specialty shops will charge about $1000 to do it for you. You could literally do your truck every year in a different color 4-5 years for the price of having your truck wrapped in vinyl once. It holds up to pressure washing just fine, and if you did scratch some off, like on a door, you can very easily just peel off the old stuff and re-spray the door without being a big deal like it would be with paint, or a huge expense with vinyl wrap. Another big plus is that the liquid wrap won't damage your underlying paint like a vinyl wrap will
