Now let’s see it run with a TRX. On road and off road. Now we can do an Apples to Apples comparison. I want to see how the TRX hangs with direct competitio.

Sort of. The R is on 37s. You also have the differences in weight and some differences in hp, etc. But they are definitely the same class of vehicle now.

Weight is everything. I’m guessing the R will still be significantly lighter than the TRX. The numbers are basically equal, so performance should be greater. You can look at it this way. If the R is faster and does it with 2HP less and 10lbs less tq in a motor that is a litre smaller. Well that’s bragging rights. Time will tell. I bet the R beats the TRX in MPG’s lol. Those certainly buying the R won’t worry about gas cost. But range matters. If it leaves asphalt.

The weight difference between Raptor and R is less than 100 lbs apparently.

By now, Ram stans are probably gloating about the fact that the TRX is still more powerful than the V-8 Raptor. While that is true, it's not that simple. The 5.2-liter Predator engine has a lighter aluminum block; the 6.2-liter Hellcat engine has a heavier iron block. Ford says the F-150 Raptor R has a 5950-pound curb weight. Ram lists the TRX's curb weight as 6350 pounds. Based on those manufacturer claims, the V-8–powered Raptor has a better power-to-weight ratio of 8.5 pounds per horsepower versus the TRX's 9.0 pounds per horsepower. Also, when it comes to off-road trucks named after prehistoric killing machines, the Raptor R has bigger claws.

I can see people throwing on 35’s to pick up faster street times. If this truck can run with the TRX on 37’s however, then that’s big. I don’t see TRX guys squeezing on 37’s to go slower. Power to weight ratio goes to the Raptor and they tuned this version of the predator for low to mid TQ as is needed for a truck.

C&D reports that the Raptor R is 5950 lbs (8.5 lbs per hp) and the TRX is 6350 lbs. (9 lbs per hp).
