Maybe they don't need to motivate people to upgrade. For every customer that upgrades, a used gen 2 hits the market. Direct competition. Their model might just be to keep selling new ones as the old ones age out. Which probably describes their market model for the F150. Raptors are no longer scarce, and there was no two-year break to build demand, so it feels like a mild upgrade to an existing model. The things that interest me in upgrading once the dust has settled are the new rear suspension and 37s. For me, Raptor is all about the suspension.

True and another way of looking at it. But Gen 2’s will be around, for a long while. Yea the suspension upgrade is the most major improvement for the Gen 3. 37’s from the factory is pretty big too. But as stated the current 3.5TT is a great performer and is still very well suited for this truck. Ford may just leave the Raptor R for high HP group.

I agree, how much more horsepower does the average person need, great improvements with technology in the Gen 3 as well. If they go with more hp they will need to upgrade the drivetrain as well.

Those aren't improvements in technology, they're stuff waiting to fail. Some of the tech in my 2020 just quit working today. Maybe it will recover. Maybe I'll have to do a Microsoft reset(power down), maybe I'll just live with it. It appears to be software at this point, so I'm going with hope of a recovery as random as the failure. The odds are with me. What I'm not doing is let the dealer touch it.

Play/pause on the screen for my podcast player stopped working. Bluetooth connects and shows the phone and the controls on the screen. Touching the play button does nothing. Pulling the phone out of my pocket and starting the podcast from the phone screen makes it work after a long delay. Starting and stopping the truck didn't fix it. Next I power down the phone. I hate tech.

It's THE biggest thing, by far.

More HP and the S/C V8 was inevitable. The 3.5L is too small for big HP- you just cannot keep upping boost forever on pump gas. 700-800 HP is S/C V8 range. Eventually the HP wars will dictate 1000 HP as standard for hipo gas engines and TT V8s will be issued.

I don’t do podcasts in the truck. Is this the only issue? What player is this?

It's Player FM. It's been working fine since I bought the truck in May. I jump in, it connects over Bluetooth and starts playing. Controls on the screen work. I jump out, it stops playing, Jump back in, it starts where it left off. Easy peasy. Today I jump in and get the controls, but it doesn't play and the controls don't work. Ran around doing errands and it never did start itself, although I got it to play once by hitting play on my phone and then it started working. But the next time I jumped in, no workee. I also listen to music from my phone using Musicolet, but I didn't try that today. I never did get Android Auto to work, either, after trying several cables. Did I mention that I hate tech?
