Hey! Just wondering, but how does your additive compare to things like ceratec, or even the molygen oil that comes with a molecular additive?


Completely different than what they have. Their products are based on lubricants being added to the oil, our product is designed to breakdown the sludge and deposits, reduce the viscosity of the oil, and pernitrate into the metal wall. It acts more like a coating on the metal face under high temp and pressure. Our product also does not contain any synthetic blends or aromatics, and is made from reacted organic and inorganic acids. And yes it is patented.

Basically where traditional oils and lubricants burn off or coke ours will react and eliminate the oil degradation while providing a film/ coating that can with stand the high temps. The product has been tested to over 765 deg F at 14,000 psi with no failure. At the same time we have also tested it to -42 deg F at 12,000 psi with no failures or degradation of the product. There isn't a lubricant on the market that can hold up to the range we have tested our product. We have also conducted compatibility tests with the product and have not found a material that it will cause failure as well. Due to the components of the product it acts as an effective corrosion inhibitor as well.

One last thing, the additives you mentioned, Ceratec, LiquiMoly, etc. are based on nanotechnology (1×10⁻⁹ of a meter). Our product molecule size is measured in picometers (1×10⁻¹² of a meter), 291pm (picometers) to be exact. 1 nanometer is 1000 picometers so much smaller molecule.

I recall you mentioned you worked in the oil industry and therefore came across this additive. I hear what you’re saying and to the uneducated person it makes a lot of sense, I am just wondering where this idea came from. Are you looking to sell this as an oil additive for engines in general? Are there any similar products out there? How do you think will the OEMs react given that they are generally opposing additives of any kind?

as you know, my dealer traded me out of my Raptor that had the cam phaser and solenoid issues with less than 300 miles on it. However, there is a chance for this issue to reoccur. On my new raptor, I already started noticing a knock when cold starting at very low temps (15F-25F outside temp). I am less worried about the knock this time since I think this could be a combination of the very sensitive and noisy EcoBoost engine in combination with not so great fuel quality. However, given I live in Chicago and temps are generally lower, I am considering adding an additive like CeraTec (mostly to calm my nerves). I think your product may be better but obviously without official go-to-market and verifiable testing results it’s quite the leap for an 80k $ truck owner.

I wouldn't add anything. Should you have a severe enough issue and they do a test on your fluids and find contaminants that are not approved, they have a reason to void your warranty.

I looked back and saw that your first truck was July 2019 and your new one is Oct 2019. Mine is a 2019 end of Sept build.

A knocking sound is much different than the cam phaser sound, so post a video of your new sound.

Have you listened to my video on page 91? Does it sound like that or much different? You have to listen to mine carefully. My truck had been sitting for a full 24 hour period. As soon as the engine starts, you will immediately hear a rattle and within 1-2 seconds the rattle is gone so it's quick. I'm trying to determine if that is what they all sound like or if it's just the beginning of the end.

Problem is, there aren't any videos of a Raptor startup that has no issue. So there's nothing to compare to see if what I am hearing is normal. I mean, it's normal for now as far as I'm concerned. I'm only going to the dealer if my sound changes.

I think I will have to start measuring my unit in picometers. It will sound huge!!

We (my company), are the developers, manufacturer, and supplier of this (patented) product. The original design for it was done years ago for heavy oil (high asphaltene and paraffin) applications. The product works by changing the carbon structure of oil thus removing the parts of crude oil that are problem causing and hard to refine. From there we have developed additives based on the same technology for oil and gas drilling, fracking, and now are working on engine oil additives. Everything based off the same base product. At some point we will have the product on the market for engine oil additives as we currently have the product on the market for oil and gas production, drilling, and refining. We work closely with major oil companies in our R&D to ensure our products are in line to what OEM standards require. We are also working with a few engine builders (can’t reveal due to confidentiality agreements) on the engine oil additive as well.

This may at some point be added into engine oil lubricants from the manufacturer vs a separate product. Time will tell on what our path to market will be for engine oil additives. It is not our main focus at the moment.

Just so you know this is not something that was made down in a basement or mad science lab. We have been in development with this product and others for years now. Currently our commercial market is oil and gas drilling, production, and refining. Our primary goal with it is to increase efficiency in the industry while reducing environmental impacts and discharges.

Listened to yours and definitely sounds like the typical cam phaser sound, albeit very faint. My first raptor (July build) had it quite a bit more pronounced toward the end. My new one definitely does NOT have the cam phaser sound even at a 20F outside temp cold soak start. So for that, I am thankful. The new sound I am getting though is a typical knock, on cold soak startup and 20F outside and it goes away once oil temp is up. So I’m at this point just jaded and won’t even care anymore until that CEL comes. But I also don’t think that light knock is worrisome at this point.

that being said, I did used to put in a can of CeraTec into my 4.8L V8 Cayenne at every oil change and boy did that quiet down the engine and just make it run smoother. Never had a bad experience with the stuff and it was recommended by a European trained mechanic that works on racing engines. So yeah, I don’t want to void warranty hence I am not doing anything yet, but I do believe the stuff works and reduces metal-on-metal friction.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. I believe those that don't have the cam issue don't hear anything at all at cold soak startup. My noise is likely just going to get worse though it may take a long while. I am leaning towards I have the "beginning" of the cam phaser issue but only time will tell how it turns out. I do believe now that my sound is not normal, though faint.

Anyway. It's really not a big surprise. When you think about it, even though my truck was built after the supposed cutoff (4/2019), the engine could have been sitting on the shelf from 6 months ago for all I know. I highly doubt they assembled the engine at the same time as the truck. So likely my engine has the old part(s).

Anyway, what can ya do? I could be wrong about a few things but I still love the truck and enjoy it immensely. But when I think of 5 years from now, when the powertrain warranty runs out, I get nervous.

If you can, post a vid of your new sound. Sorry you potentially have a new issue. There should never be a knock at anytime on an engine even at 20F. I've seen 30F in mine and do not have any knocks. Maybe a faulty knock sensor? Let us know what the dealer's response is to you having issues with your second truck if you bring it in...
