exactly. the only lag your going to feel now is the DBW bs and the computer, these ecoboost's light off insanely fast, thats why they make so much TQ down low. little baby turbos.
im not sure how these trucks are setup but the ecoboost in my SHO could only go to around 2krpm brake boost before the computer would shut it down and in my opinion it made it feel slower anyway, when tuned it actually helped.

this truck with a tune is going to be a blast, it will probably be a year before one comes out but it should be a beast. id bet near 5sec 0-60's.... imagine that? i can't wait.

my SHO with just a tune was a completely different car, cant imagine what this truck will be with a whole different engine and different turbos etc.

i'm looking forward to what these will do with just a good 93 tune.

hell yea, i have a feeling its going to be a long wait tho.
all new computer, trans, engine. going to take a while just for them to get into the computer.... then figure out the new trans etc. will absolutely be worth the wait tho.

There is absolutely no perceptible turbo lag in the ecoboost engines. Kind of surprised more people haven't driven them since their introduction in 09/10. There is really nothing to debate about turbo lag in modern, well engineered turbo engines.

My 911 turbo is an 02 and I have it tuned with hi flow catless exhaust. It makes over 500hp but it also lags, or at least has an annoying all or nothing boost surge that is the opposite of linear which I prefer, especially on the track. Very different vehicle and I certainly expect 15 years of technology has come a long way in the mean time!

Porsche is known for turbo lag. the ecoboost is totally different. go to your local ford dealer and drive a 2016 f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost or a new SHO with the 3.5 ecoboost. yes they are different engines and only 6 speeds but even those have no lag what so ever.

Dude, the 3.5 Ecoboost has lag. There are some high end hot in vee designs like the M177 Amg 4.0L, the new flat 6 base Carrera, and probably ones like the 3.9L Ferrari that have almost linear response. But the Ecoboost is about average as far as factory turbo engines go, you're probably just used to it by now.

Take an ecoboost at part or off throttle and give it full, you wait a half step for it to light. A good naturally aspirated engine gives you everything it has instantly. It's a budget performance engine and does well for what it is though.
