Not sure if it’s the same concern, but this service message was published for trucks built 10/1/22 or later.


SSM 51827 2022-2023 F-150 And 2023 Expedition/Navigator - 3.5L GTDI Engine - Reduced Engine Power On Start Up, DTC P2101 In The PCM - Built On Or After 01-Oct-2022
Some 2022-2023 F-150 and 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 01-Oct-2022 equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine may exhibit reduced engine power on startup and an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2101 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers they can remove this condition and continue to drive the vehicle by turning off the vehicle and leaving the vehicle in Key OFF, Engine OFF for at least 30 seconds, then restarting the engine. Engineering is working on a solution that is expected in October 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments once the repair becomes available.

Mine just did it again. Remote start, rough idle, service engine soon. Turned it off and back on, ran like nothing happened.

Forscan read a DTC this time P2101-E5

This happened to me with about 500 miles on my 23 after remote starting. Has not happened again. However, I feel like mine idles rough anyway. I have just gotten used to it assuming it is this beastly 3.5 engine.
