Mmmm forgot about low oil pressure to the head. Okay, assuming he just had the F250 heads ported and installed new Raptor cams and valve springs, wouldn’t that be it? The intake doesn’t really wear so that should just be a direct swap over.



The intake from the Rap is the only neglegible item in this situation

I’m wanting to just know what the change is between the heads on the Rap and F250? I know the cam profile is different but haven’t heard anything about the heads. I’m new to 6.2s, and I’ve only done 5.4s before this. I did research before buying my raptor as to whether the engine could be swapped with a f250 in the event mine failed. All I ever saw mentioned was cams and intake.

I suppose, on some level the F250 heads could be brought up to Rap dimensions. The main difference is the torque curve each produces. Rap= quick, high HP and torque. F250=slower, low end torque. As far as exact difference in valve size and port size, that I do not know.

After just looking for valves, they seem to be universal between raptor and f250, but rockauto could be wrong. I do see separate part numbers for the entire cylinder heads on rockauto, but they won’t sell me a bare one.

Btw.... @jdm_sixtwo what you know about a 5.4? Wanna build me one?
Haven’t ever pulled one apart past the timing cover. Whatcha lookin to do with one though? 3v or 2v? I’m about to be pulling a 5.4 2v for a friend and rebuilding it for his f150. I’m assuming it’s the 5.4 3v from your 2006 FX4? I remember the wheels you posted on garage sale being FX4s.

Yeah, I figure they would be different, based on how each motor breathes
