I tried. At first mine said they would, but they looked into it further and then said they couldn't for liability reasons, lawyers, etc. At that point I just said screw it, printed out SDHQ's How-To thread about it and Raptorguy21 and I did it ourselves.
It wasn't too complicated, but if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself then I would recommend that you print the how-to and take it to a local off road or suspension shop. They could probably take care of it in +/- 2 hours.

i would actually feel most comfortable doing it myself, if not i would want the dealer doing it, then aligning it. their endorsement would make me feel better.

That's the thing..... They're worried about endorsing it. At least mine was. Maybe a more Raptor savvy dealership like TeamFordRaptor would do it, but mine wouldn't.

If you wanna give it a try, grab a buddy who's halfway mechanically inclined, some spring compressors (not the flimsy kind, go beefy), your tools, and an 18 pack and get started. If you run into any snags call me and either I will help you figure it out or I'll get Julian on the phone for you to better explain. Jules works on high end dragsters among all kinds of other vehicles, so he makes everything look easy. ....but seriously, we would be glad to walk you through it if you wanna go for it.

When I said +/- 2 hours, I was talking about removing the shocks and going top perch. Middle perch has got to be MUCH faster since you don't take the shocks out, but I definitely recommend the top perch.... That stance makes the Raptor feel much more beastly.

i've got access to a shop, lift, tools and a buddy who can hang with it. i might just call the dealer and ask if it's gonna be a problem. then inquire about an alignment. :naughty:

Bird, the dealer shouldn't give you any flack in the future should you do this mod, it's a built in feature after all. I know there's horror stories about dealers giving people a hard time about "modding" but, during my time as a Ford tech., we never gave any undue flack to anyone about little things like that. The only thing you need them for is to do the alignment afterward and from what I understand, it's not too far out of spec at the middle. With the hook up you have with your buddy and tools, you should have no problems.

We do stuff like that at my dealer. We deal Toyota, Ford, Kia. We usually keep one brand new FJ, Tacoma or Tundra that we've leveled (with wheels and tires) on the lot. I actually do about 95% of them. We also level/lift customer vehicles of any kind. But we don't go over 3 inches. Anything over that and it gets hard to warranty. Like SOCO said, I can't imagine a dealer hassling you over the spring perch mod. Its their to begin with and nothing after market was added. I also think most techs wouldn't even realize it was done if they were to look.

sounds promising. i will call my dealer Monday. Thanks for posting your write up SDHQ, I will probably tell the Ford guy to reference it if I don't end up doing it myself.

Do it yourself Bird. Its really not hard if you follow the instructions.
I don't see how a dealer can give you a hard time for using a feature that THEY sold you.
....And seriously, nothing bad is gonna happen...... like many others who've done this, I've jumped the shit out of my truck with the top perch many times..... No problems whatsoever. An added benefit to doing it yourself is that if somehow, someway you ever did need to put it back, you'll know how to do it yourself.
...And you might as well go top perch, I'll bet my bottom dollar that if you go mid-perch you'll end up going back and doing it again to get to the top. ....Make it Beast Mode.
